Frequently Asked Questions

What discounts does Camp A Way offer?

Good Sam and AAA members who show their active membership card receive a 10% discount off the DAILY rate. Active and Retired military members also receive 10% off the DAILY site fees when ID is shown.

Guests who book a stay of seven or more nights may receive a Weekly discount or—if applicable—a monthly discount.

Why doesn’t my discount appear when I make an Online Booking?

Discount Club membership validation is performed by our staff. After verification, your discount is applied to the booking. Any credit or refunds will be processed at check-in.

May I choose my own site?

Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee specific sites. We try to get you your old favorite site; sometimes circumstances let you have a NEW favorite site. Sites are assigned by Camp A Way staff at check-in with your needs and requests in mind. It is preferable to request attributes (satellite view, near playground, space for an extra tent) so we can choose the best location for you instead of demanding a specific site that might not be available for any number of reasons.

Do you require a deposit for reservations?

Yes. We take the full payment as a deposit at the time of booking. We will not “hold a site" without payment.

What do I do if I arrive after the office is closed?

If you made an advance booking, a personalized site map will be near the Office door directing you to your reserved site, marked with an orange cone. If you did not have a booking, a Night Registration area is provided next to the Office door.

What are the cancellation and administration fees?

Cancellation fees are charged to all cancelled bookings.
Administration fees are applied to shortened or changed bookings that result in a refund.

Can I have a campfire? Can I bring my own firewood?

Yes, if the fire is fully contained in a fire pit. Firewood may be purchased from the campground or local suppliers. Firewood brought from out-of-state is NOT permitted by Nebraska State Law. Don't Move Firewood . ORG

Are you really open all year? Even in winter?

Yes, really. We offer full hook-up campsites, even when it’s cold. We have special, heated water faucets for our winter guests. Our Showers, Laundry, and Spa are also open all year

What is a FunPass wristband?

Camp A Way guests wear FunPass wristbands to participate in EXTRA campground activities. Each FunPass purchased includes a pack of water balloons and 3 tabs, each redeemable for an ice cream cone, slushy, bike rental, or more water balloons. FunPass Wristbands are required for use of Zoom Floom, JumpShot, Water Wars, Jump Pad, and Barrel Train Rides. Fun Passes last for up to one continuous week.

FunPasses are NOT required for: Children ages 3 & under, Swimming Pool, Indoor Spa, Bike Rental, “Hey Ride,” Jumbo Chess, Jumbo Connect Four, Game Room, or Playground.

What is your pet policy?

Well-behaved, vaccinated, sociable dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes are welcome. We require pets to be leashed and attended while outside of your RV. Your pet should be secured in your RV or—if a barker—travel with you when you’re not at your campsite or dog park. Please be aware that pets are not allowed in campground facilities such as office, pool, bathrooms, laundry, or Caretaker's Cottage. Studio Lodge does allow up to 2 pets for a fee.

Do you have a fenced in dog park?

Camp A Way has a huge, off-leash dog park. We built it to give plenty of room for your companion to chase after long tennis ball throws.

Are you a private/membership park? Do I need a park sticker?

We are not a state park, no sticker is needed and we are not a membership park.

Do you offer Wi-Fi?

Camp A Way offers free high-speed wireless throughout the park to all our guests in eight-hour blocks of time. When time ends, clients can renew their connection immediately at no cost. For the benefit of all users, automated bandwidth and speed controls are used.

Do your RV sites have cable television?

Camp A Way has great cable television service. We offer about 60 channels from which to choose, including many favorite sports and family programming channels.

What are your campsites like?

Big and Green! On average, our campsites are 40 feet wide. All of Camp A Way’s RV campsites are Full Hook-up sites, providing Water, Electricity, Sewer, Cable TV and Wi-Fi. All sites feature a packed-limestone pad and provide a picnic table and fire ring—some sites have a removable fire ring that is taken off-site between guests. Deluxe sites have pull-thru convenience, and Premium Pull-thru sites and DLX BI sites have 50 amp electrical service. Ultra Patio sites have even more amenities.

Do you have “big rig, towing” campsites?

Half of the sites in the park are 50 amp pull-thrus for RVs longer than 36 feet. We have some of the largest sites in the area to accommodate almost all RVs on the road. Some sites are over 90 feet long!
A special note to custom and non-traditional trailer owners: because of our beautiful trees, 30’ or shorter, mid-axle placement is key. A 49’ “traditional style” custom bumper-pull travel trailer can easily navigate our park, but a 45’ rear-axle, commercial truck trailer has difficulty.

Can my friends visit us and use the pool?

Camping is best experienced with friends. Visitors to your campsite are welcome, but must exit the park by 10 pm. Visitors may use the pool/spa for a fee, or may purchase a wristband to experience all the campground has to offer.

Do you allow tent camping?

Camp A Way has nice tent sites for individuals and groups. Located next to our creek and wooded area, you may forget you’re still in the city. Each tent site has a picnic table, fire ring/grill, and 20 amp electrical hook-ups. We also feature "Pop-up" Water & Electric sites—great for our motorcycling and minimalist guests pulling teardrops and tent-trailers.

Do you do group bookings or group discounts?

Yes. Groups of 2-7 RVs can create bookings as normal. Groups of 11 or more RVs may be eligible for special discounts. Group tenting consisting of 10 tents or 20 guests may be eligible for special discounts as well.

Can my kids put up a tent on my RV site?

Yes. A daily fee applies to tents erected on RV sites and “second” tents on tent sites.

Do you have a group pavilion or meeting room?

Camp A Way does not have any indoor meeting spaces

Is there a general store on site?

Camp A Way’s store stocks many of the necessities you may have forgotten and tasty snacks, fun treats, and refreshing drinks. We also have RV and Camping supplies, gifts, and souvenirs.
You can also get great Nebraka-Made and Nebraska-Themed gifts at the From Nebraska Gift Shop. Fresh produce, meat and other quality items can be found at nearby Sam's Club and Fallbrook Super Saver

Do you have cabins?

Camp A Way has two great cabins, our Caretaker’s Cottage and the Studio Lodge. The Cottage will accommodate up to 6 guests and comes with towels and linens. The Lodge will accommodate up to 4 guests. Pets are allowed in the Studio Lodge ($) but are not allowed in the Cottage. View our Rates page for more details.

Where do I or my visitors park extra vehicles?

Camp A Way has limited additional parking areas for vehicles that don’t easily fit on the parking pad of your campsite. To keep the beauty of the park, please ensure your visitors don’t park on or drive across the grass of your campsite.

What local attractions are nearby?

Camp A Way is perfect as a base camp for exploring this great area! We’ve got educational and off-beat museums, live music, and great dining venues and shopping areas. There’s award-winning breweries & vineyards. Excellent sports attractions, including the College World Series and the “Best College Football Experience” in the nation. Are there any Extended Stay sites available?

We set aside a selection of Standard and DLX campsites for extended stay use. Special extended stay rates apply ONLY to those specific sites. Once full, we create a waiting list of current guests who move into the extended stay sites as each is vacated.

Tell me about camping during Husker Football Season?

Home and Visiting team fans create a great atmosphere in the park. Guests can book anything from a single weekend to the entire season. Bookings should be made well in advance.
Labor Day weekend has a 3-night minimum, the remaining football games have a 2-night minimum, excluding the bi-annual "Black Friday" game in late November.

When we stop taking bookings for a weekend, we compile a waiting list for when sites become available.

What happens when I’m on a waiting list?

Football Weekend and Extended Stay waiting lists are begun when we stop taking bookings for certain dates. We want to know your check in date, number of nights you agree to stay, RV size & type, multiple phone numbers ( ! ) and the last date to contact you.

When a campsite becomes available, our staff calls qualifying clients from the list. We then make a booking for the first client to answer their call and say yes to the agreed dates of stay. Due to the time-sensitive nature, we don’t leave voicemails or wait for second-party approval

Are there any golf courses nearby?

Lincoln Parks and Recreation has great public golf courses, the nearest, Highlands, is within a mile from the park. Other private and semi-private courses are only a few "good drives" away.

What time is Check-in and Check-out

Check-in is after 1 pm. If you require a campsite before that time, an additional day may need to be booked. Check-out is before 11 am. Inquire at the office regarding the availability of a 3:30 pm late check-out Sunday – Thursdays. Guests staying after 4pm (or 11 am Fri /Sat) will be charged an additional night.

When are quiet hours?

Quiet Time is 10 pm until 8 am. Disturbing noises are not permitted at any time.

Do you fill propane tanks?

Sadly, we do not. Two great places nearby are Lee’s Propane and Leach Camper Service. See our site map for their contact information.

The trip was really dirty. Can I wash my RV?

Yes. Waterless washing is permitted at any time. You may purchase a Wash Permit for $15 which allows you to spray and wash your entire RV. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. must be washed at the local car wash facilities, not at the park.

I’m in need of repairs. Who do you recommend?

At this time there is no mobile RV service based in Lincoln. Regional providers will charge an estimate fee to visit since they may be required to drive 50+ miles each way.

Policies

Bookings:

Deposits: Each reservation requires payment for the full amount of the stay.

Groups: Each booking in a group must be paid in full.

Early Arrivals: If you must be parked in a site before 1:00 pm, you should book the campsite for the previous night. If you're more flexible, you may call the us the morning of check-in to see if your site has been vacated. Camp A Way does not have any "RV waiting areas."

Confirmations: Confirmation emails are sent for each booking. Guests are responsible for alerting us about errors or undelivered email within 24 hrs. of booking. Clients who don't provide emails are still subject to policies.

Requesting a Specific Campsite: We do not reserve specific campsites.
We try to honor requests, but cannot always accommodate them--even if that site is vacant when you arrive. This is due to how other reservations interact and variables associated with RV travel, such as: illnesses, RV trouble, & unforeseen travel plan changes.

Payments: Credi cards are automatically encrypted and saved by our software.
Extended stay weekly & monthly guests shall have a credit card on file for automatic payments.

Cancellations:

ALL CANCELLATIONS WILL INCUR A FEE.
The Cancellation Fee is:

Regular Bookings, with dates that do not fall on Holiday or Football weekends:
Full Deposit (or 2 night fee) if cancelled day before check-in.
1 night fee (pre-tax) if cancelled within a week prior to check-in.
10% of Deposit if cancelled more than a week prior to check-in.

Holiday & Football Weekends:
Full Deposit lost if cancelled day before check-in.
2 night fee (pre-tax) if cancelled within a week of check-in.
1 night fee (pre-tax) if cancelled within a month of check-in.
10% of deposit if cancelled more than a month prior to check-in.

Off Season (Nov-Mar, not inculding football weekends):
1 night fee if cancelled within 2 days prior to check-in.
10% of deposit if cancelled more than 2 days prior to check-in.

Extended Stay:
$150 fee if cancelled within a month of check-in date.
10% of deposit if cancelled more than one month prior to check-in date.

Changes to booking:

Changes to a booking which result in a refund will incur an administration fee. (see Refunds below)
Changes to a booking not require a refund shall incur no administration fees.
Postpone a booking: A booking may not be postponed by more than a week. The booking will be cancelled with the approprate cancellation fees, and a new booking will be created and charged the appropriate deposit payments. (see Bookings and Cancellations above)
A booking postponed on the scheduled arrival date shall be charged the cost of that day.

No-show policy:

Failure to appear on the designated check-in day without telephone notification will result in cancellation of entire reservation and loss of all deposits paid.

Check-in:

Check in at the Office for site assignment and escort and/or directions to campsite or cabin.

All payments are due at check-in or in advance of booking extension.

Partial payments are not allowed. Booking length will be reduced to appropriate length and change fee will be applied.

Staying in park:

Disturbing noises are not permitted at any time. Quiet Time is 10:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m.

No glass or alcohol allowed in our "barefoot areas" of the pool, spa, water wars, jump pad, & zoom floom.

Registered Guests are responsible for the safety, supervision, and actions of their children and Visitors. Visitors should check-in at the Office and must leave the park by 10:00 p.m.

We require a minimum of $5.00 for any credit card purchases.

Tents must be moved every third day and have a maximum stay of seven days.

Changes to Booking after Check-in:

A guest who extends a booking will be charged in advance for whole time units available on that site (daily, weekly, monthly.)

Weekly and Monthly discounts will not be retroactively applied after the 2nd day. Beginning the third day, the booking will be extended in whole time increments.

Campground fees will not be pro-rated and may not be paid in installments.

A guest who must change sites to extend a booking shall pay the rate for the new campsite. Fees will not be combined or pro-rated.

Failure or inability to check-out or move to newly assigned site may result in additional fees being charged to your account, inculding any refunds Camp A Way would have to give to the inconvenienced client(s) whose bookings are affected. Early Check-out: Guests who leave earlier than scheduled will have booking re-calulated. This may or may not result in a refund. Please see Refunds for details (below)

Pets

We like well-mannered, vaccinated, sociable pets. Aggressive or barking dogs are not permitted. Certain pets must be approved before being allowed in the park.

Pets must be leashed and attended by an adult at all times. If your pet is outside, you should be too, even if it is kenneled. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after pets.

Pets are not allowed in any campground facility such as: Pool, Office, Laundry, etc.

Children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult in the Dog Park.

Tenting Guests should take dogs whith them when leaving park. Tents are not soundproof and lonely pups can easily rip through tent walls.

Pool & Spa

Children under age 16 must be accompanied in the Pool and Spa by and ADULT at least age 19. Children age 5 and under are NOT allowed in the Spa as per State Laws.

Visitors of Registered Guests may use Pool & Spa for a small fee.

No Glass or alcohol in barefoot areas of Pool, Spa, Water Wars, Zoom Floom, etc.

Sites & Vehicles

We want to keep our families and pets safe, please drive slowly through the park. Stay on designated roads, do not take shortcuts through campsites or across the grass. Do not erect clotheslines or dog runs.

Please ensure all vehicles are parked in your graveled site or in designated parking areas, not on the grass or other campsites.

Mechanical repairs and oil changes are not permitted in the campground.

Tires, large furniture, appliances, and items with refrigerants are not permitted by our refuse service. Please see Office regarding proper disposal options. Please keep campsites free of clutter and debris.

Only One RV or Tent per campsite without special authorization. Additional tents accompanying RV or main Tent are subject to a daily fee.

Fires are permitted, but must be supervised and fully contained in fire rings. Portable fire rings must be placed on gravel. All fires must be extinguished when unsupervised.

Please don't drape a sewer hose into drain. Use a rubber sewer ring or elbow connection.

Check-out:

Check-out is 11 a.m.

Late Check-out: If you MUST stay in your campsite after 11:00 am (sports tournaments, weddings, etc.), you should reserve the site for an additional night when you create your booking. A late check-out cannot be guaranteed prior to arrival. Late check-out availability is determined daily on a site-by-site basis.

IF AVAILABLE: A late check out fee can be paid to stay until 3:30 pm. At 4:00 pm, an entire night will be charged. Fees for late check-out may be automatically applied to your credit card.

No late check-outs on Fridays or Saturdays from May through October.

An unauthorized late departure will be charged the cost of one night AND the cost of any displaced bookings.

Refunds:

Refunds from Good Sam/AAA/Military discounts are not subject to Administration fees, provided they are processed at check-in.

Refunds must have manager approval and may not be immediately available.

Refunds from personal check payments will be sent via USPS after payment has been posted.

Refunds are calculated using whole time periods and are not pro-rated. (Fifteen days is calculated as 2 weeks & 1 day, not 1/2 a month.)

Administration Fees:
Before Check-in: Reservation Administration fee is $10.
After Check-in: Daily Stays will have no refunds for the "last night." Weekly stays will have no refunds after the 4th day. Monthly stays will have no refunds after the 16th day.
Non-Camping: 10% of refund

A guest is not eligible for a refund if a rule violation results in ejection from park.

A guest may not apply "remaining days" to future visits.

Fun Pass Wristbands:

Wristbands are NOT required for: Swimming Pool, Indoor Spa, Bike Rental, “Hey Ride,” Jumbo Chess, Jumbo Connect Four, Game Room, or Playground.

Fun Pass Wristbands may be purchased for a fee and each Fun Pass is valid for one week. Fun Passes are NOT required for children ages 3 & under.

Fun Pass includes one 20-count bag of water balloons and 3 tabs. Each tab is redeemable for one soft-serve ice cream cone, one slushy drink, one half-hour bike rental, or one 20-count bag of water balloons.

Wristbands are required for certain attractions, amenities, and events including: Zoom Floom water slide ride, JumpShot trampoline basketball game, Water Wars water balloon battle game, Jump Pad inflatable activity area, and Barrel Train Ride carriage tour.

Camp A Way Campground and Queenland Inc. reserve the right to refuse service at any time for any reason and to substitute sites of similar value. Discounted rates for monthly bookings are limited and may not be available. Fees for late check-out or damage may be retroactively charged to your payment card account. Camp A Way is not liable or responsible for overdraft or other banking fees assessed to your accounts.We will not be responsible for accidents or injury to our guests who participate in events, use our facilities (including the Jump Pad, spa, swimming pool, etc.), or for the loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind.

Photos and Videos are taken at Camp A Way. Visiting Registered Guests, Staying at Camp A Way, and participating in events or activities signifies consent that these images and/or sounds may be used for promotional purposes.

Additional guidelines apply to guests staying longer periods of time.

Camp A Way's extended stay sites are for temporary visitors to the Lincoln area. A designated check-out date is required or one will be provided for you. An "open ended" stay is not permitted. Camp A Way will take reservations for your campsite for other guests to arrive immediately following your scheduled departure.

A weekly extended stay guest who switches to a monthly extended stay site will have the new monthly booking begin on the assigned day of movement. Current booking will be truncated and any credits will be applied to new monthly booking. Campground fees will not be pro-rated.

Extended stay guests shall have credit card on file for automatic payments. Statements will be sent out via email.

Guests with past-due accounts may lose Weekly and Monthly discounts for time spent in arrears. Late fees may be applied.

Wooden decks are not permitted. Shade structures must be easily portable

RV skirting is only allowed from November through March. Spun fiberglass, hay bales, bags of leaves, or other such materials are not permitted

Do not place items such as satellite dishes, dog tethers, area rugs, shade structures, cords, etc. on grass where lawn mowers can cause damage.

Sites are designed for one RV and one passenger vehicle. Additional vehicles and cargo trailers may be required to be parked in satellite lots.

Construction equipment, commercial semi-trucks, and other such items should be stored at your job site. Please leave work at work.

Travel Trailers & Fifth-wheels must have towing vehicle on-site in case of emergency.
