Accessibility Statement

1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

Camp A Way is committed to ensuring that our website, campaway.com, and our physical campground facilities are accessible to all guests, including those with disabilities. We believe that every person deserves a welcoming and enjoyable outdoor experience, and we strive to remove barriers — both digital and physical — that may prevent full participation.

We are actively working to improve accessibility across all areas of our operations and to meet or exceed the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable state and local accessibility laws.

2. Website Accessibility

2.1 Our Standard

We aim for our website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

2.2 What We Are Doing

To support an accessible web experience, we work toward the following practices on campaway.com:

  • Providing text alternatives (alt text) for all meaningful images
  • Ensuring sufficient color contrast between text and background elements
  • Designing pages that can be navigated using a keyboard alone
  • Using clear, descriptive headings and logical page structure
  • • Avoiding content that flashes or strobes in ways that could cause seizures
  • • Ensuring forms and interactive elements are labeled and usable with assistive technologies
  • • Writing link text that is descriptive and meaningful out of context
  • • Captioning or providing transcripts for any video content where feasible

2.3 Third-Party Platforms

Some features on our website are provided through third-party platforms, including Campspot for online reservations. While we encourage our vendors to maintain accessible services, we cannot fully control the accessibility of third-party platforms. If you encounter barriers on a third-party platform linked from our site, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you.

3. Physical Accessibility at Camp A Way

We are committed to making our campground welcoming to guests with physical disabilities. Our on-site accessibility features include:

3.1 Accessible Sites

  • ADA-accessible RV and tent sites are available; please contact us in advance to request an accessible site assignment
  • Accessible sites are located on level, firm ground near restroom facilities where possible

3.2 Restrooms & Facilities

  • Accessible restroom and shower facilities are available within the campground
  • Paths to key facilities are maintained to minimize obstacles

3.3 Common Areas

  • Our campground office is accessible to guests with mobility needs
  • We welcome service animals throughout the property in accordance with ADA guidelines
  • Guests who require accommodations for pool or amenity access are encouraged to speak with staff

3.4 Requesting Accommodations

We encourage guests with specific accessibility needs to contact us prior to arrival so that we can make appropriate arrangements. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your needs and ensure a comfortable stay.

4. Known Limitations

While we are committed to accessibility, we acknowledge that some areas of our website and physical facilities may not yet fully meet all accessibility standards. We are an ongoing work in progress, and we prioritize improvements based on impact and feasibility

Current limitations we are aware of and actively working to address include:

  • Some older images on the site may lack complete alt text descriptions
  • Certain natural terrain areas within the campground may not be fully accessible to guests with significant mobility impairments
  • PDF documents or linked files may not yet be fully optimized for screen readers

We are committed to addressing these gaps over time and welcome feedback to help us prioritize.

5. Feedback & Accessibility Requests

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of campaway.com and our campground facilities. If you experience any barriers, have difficulty accessing any part of our website or services, or would like to request accessible materials or accommodations, please contact us using any of the following methods:

Email: contact@campaway.com
Phone: (402) 476-2282
